That's what feminism is. Not hating men, or anything extreme, just wanting equality. The whole "women hating men" assumption is called misandry, not feminism. Men=Women.
With Emma Watson's moving speech, feminism is gaining popularity.
In the past, I've found it ridiculous that women have had to protest for their rights- a right is something you should have by birth, not having to fight for it! And who decided on the issue of women's suffrage? Men. Men, deciding for women.
Many other girls are afraid of the term of "feminism". But don't be! Equality is not a dirty term. Like the wise Dumbledore once said,"Fear of a name increases fear of a thing itself."
Women have also been under estimated and taught from a young age what is a "girl" thing and what is a "boy" thing. Even in the hospital, and baby girl would be dressed in a pink shirt, and a boy in blue. Women are also paid less than men, the paycheck gap making some women also work for free some days. If you're pretty, you're automatically assumed as stupid. But if you're smart, you're defined as "a nerd" and "ugly".
Have a lovely day!
