1. Dates
No, not the kind that you dress up for! Dried or fresh dates are very sweet- but you can also buy them in compressed forms with other "super-foods", like chia seeds, goji berries, and so much more! I really love these.
2. Watermelon Juice
OK- juice is probably not the healthiest, since it contains a butt-load of sugar, but watermelon juice is super refreshing on a hot day!
3. Applesauce
Eating applesauce always makes me feel like a baby, but it can be a pretty darn good snack on the run if you're a busy person.
4. Kale Chips
I've always hated raw kale (yuck!) but once you slice up kale leaves, drizzle oil on them, and bake them until they're crispy, they're delish! I feel lke they are better than any potato chip, although the downside is that they don'y stay good for long. :'( They're vegan, paleo, and vegetarian!
5. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate has been shown to reduce stress (obviously), prevent diabetes, help with weight loss, and prevent heart diseases. It still contains milk and sugar, so restrain yourself to a minmal amount.
6. Popcorn
No-not the movie theater kind, laden down with butter and enough salt to cause your blood pressure to go up by 150%. Try it without salt and butter, and with some olive oil! It'll be superrr tasty, and low-cal to boot. Sometimes I like put some cinnamon or chocolate chips on it for something more decadent.
7. Dole Banana & Chocolate Slices
I myself have never tried these, since I loathe bananas (they make me gag), but if you like fruit + chocolate, these are for you!
8. Fruit Infused Water
If you haven't heard, fruit infused water is the health thing for summer. Tons of recipes are floating around online, but mint and lemon is my fave combo!
9. Trail Mix
OK, for this to be healthy, you must make this at home! Almonds, dried fruits, slivers of dark chocolate, and ba-boom! healthy snack.
10. Apples + Peanut Butter
This is a match made in heaven I think we can all agree, and it's super simple! Slice up an apple and put on a dollop of peanut butter! You could also use other nut butters, such as almond. The fruit provides it's own sweetness and the nut butter adds a savory touch.
I hope you all enjoyed this post and have a lovely day! xoxo
