But why is it so ~magical~? "Get to the point, woman!" you're thinking. WELL FINE, BE THAT WAY!
1. Hair Mask:
Hell-o? Awesome hair! Coconut oil can be used as a hair mask! Yipee! You put it on like regular, and if you go to sleep with it on and it rubs off on your pillow- it doesn't matter. Awesome, right???
2. Shaving Cream: See the body scrub below. Shaving with this will make your skin insanely smooth.
3. Body Lotion: Technically this would be a body oil, but whatevs, technicalities. You will smell like, a Hawaiian tropical Goddess. A TROPICAL GODDESS I SAY!
4. Eye Cream: Dab some of this under your eyes before you go to bed- I've heard many claims that this is better than $200 a (minuscule) tub creams.
5. Body Scrub: Coconut oil mixed with some sugar (brown or white will work) will work fantastically. Get a small ramekin and put about two to three parts sugar with one to two parts coconut oil in it.
6. Breath Freshener: This is known as "oil pulling" in which you swish some coconut oil- which possess anti-bacterial properties- around in your mouth for around 15 minutes. It's supposed to pull out toxins and other gross stuff. However, I have not personally done this, and can't vouch for it.You're only supposed to put in about a tablespoon, so don't go overboard!
7. Makeup Remover: If you're going to use coconut oil to remove makeup, put some in a jar or other holding receptacle, heat it up (coconut oil is solid around 76 degrees Fahrenheit), make sure it's not too hot, and put a cotton ball/pad in it, then swipe your face repeatedly. I would not recommend this for the whole face, just stubborn areas you could not get off with a makeup wipe or a face wash.
8. Body Scrub: Get a ramekin or small bowl, and mix some coarse sugar (brown or white) with coconut oil to your desired texture. For it to be effective at it's maximum level, it needs to be thick and coarse.
9. Healthier Cooking: Instead of using vegetable, canola, or even olive oil, you could use this for cooking. Like avocado's, coconut oil is full of good fat!
10. Frizz Fighter: Dab just a little bit of this on to your ends and your frizz will be tamed. If you use more than recommended, you will have a deep-conditioning mask.
Have a lovely day!
