Clinique facial lotion Hello! Today, I'd like to show you some of my favorite quotes- from books, movies, fashion designers and more! Enjoy and have a lovely day!
"In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different." ~Coco Chanel "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous." ~Coco Chanel "Fashion fades, only style remains the same." ~Coco Chanel "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" ~Princess Leia Luke: [about Princess Leia] They're gonna execute her! Look, a few minutes ago you said you didn't want to just wait here to be captured. Now all you want to do is stay? Han Solo: Marching into a detention area is not what I had in mind. Luke: But they're gonna kill her! Han Solo: Better her than me! "No. I am your father." (This is the actual "Luke, I am your father" quote.) ~Darth Vader "I'd rather kiss a Wookiee!" ~Princess Leia (about Han Solo, the hotter Star Wars guy :D) "If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals."~ J.K. Rowling "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." ~ Eleanor Roosevelt "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." ~Oscar Wilde "Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much."~ Oscar Wilde “There are two motives for reading a book; one, that you enjoy it; the other, that you can boast about it.” ~Bertrand Rusell "It is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it." ~Maurice Switzer "The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid."~ Jane Austen "So many books, so little time." ~Frank Zappa "Off with their heads!" ~Lewis Carroll "I'm afraid I can't explain myself, sir. Because I am not myself, you see?" ~Lewis Carroll "We're all mad here." ~Lewis Carroll "All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king" ~J.R.R. Tolkien Hello ya'll! I have just finished a book out of my genre- paranormal. Normally I'm a realistic and historical fiction kind of gal, but I decided to do something outside of my comfort zone because a) I wanted something fresh for summer and b) The cover was a bit interesting. I know what they say, don't judge a book by it's cover- but we all do don't we? At least I do partially. (Raise your hand and say "aye!" if you're guilty) Another reason I don't do paranormal is because I tend to finish books in one sitting and at night. A recipe for disaster! Enough about me now, and time for the book.
Summary: I loved this book and was so,so excited to learn there was two other books in the series!!! *squeal* Three total! A trilogy! Spoilers ahead. When Lexi's sister Kasey begins to act... strange if you will. (Ahem, possessed). Lexi (after meeting Mr. Prepster Carson) breaks away from her goth group and friend Lydia. She then begins to talk to Carson about her sisters queer behavior. Odd happenings begin then happen around their home and when Kasey comes to Alexis's school and begins exhibiting odd behavior around cheerleader Megan who a fifth sense/ ESP ( and is Lexi's mortal enemy) Megan pulls Lexi aside and bring's her to her home, then (surprise, surprise!) tells her Kasey is possessed. (Seriously Lexi? You didn't figure it out yet?) Then after a bunch of blah getting to the climax part they destroy the spirit which is hiding in the doll Kasey has become obsessed with. Review: I loved this book. For anyone who likes the paranormal genre or wants to read something in this genre- please do yourself a favor and reads this book!!! I beg you, and grovel at your feet. And if you do.... Master has given Angel a sock, Angel is free! It moved along quite nicely at a decent pace and had a cliffhanger after every chapter, leaving you to do nothing but read on. Alas, I am quite guilty of this fact. The characters developed to your liking and at the end.... yay! (Master has commanded Angel to not tell!) CARSON AND ALEXIS END UP TOGETHER! (Bad Angel!! *whomp*) Kasey becomes more eerie at a slow pace, with just enough details for you to find out her motive. The book was fan-freaking-tastic, which I do not award to many books. (The Princess Diaries only got a "Wow!") Read on young jedi, and have a lovely day! I finished this book a week ago and have been waiting to post a review about it. Spoilers will occur, so run away screaming if you want to read it. This is an inspiring autobiography about Da's childhood growing up in Mao Zedong's regime. Da's grandfather was a landlord and so his family was made poor farmers (during the communist revolution bourgeois people's status was lowered to peasant farmer). Da was a wonderful student, but once seeing that his grandfather being a landlord wouldn't allow him to progress farther in his schooling he kept trying. he got involved with several shady gangs and friends. He eventually got out of this rut in his life due to seeing his test scores and being publicly embarrassed after Mao Zedong died. He began to study and got an English tutor whom owned a dog- the book will explain that dog owning part. He got fantastic scores on his college exams due to Peking Man- again, read the book. He then went on to go to university in Beijing- the Haravard or M.I.T. of China back then. Now for the review! Since I can't really critique a person's life but I can critique their writing- and I will. Da added in some bits of humor that kept the story going on nicely- after all the sadness of being a poor farmer you gotta have some humor! It was always very moving- even in the funny parts. It was inspiring- it really made me rethink my life and how lucky I am. Anyways, that's more of a "Omigosh I loved this book" rant, but whatevs. READ. THE. BOOK. NOW. Have a lovely day! ^_^
I recently to a restaurant- which I will not name- that advertised their food as "Mediterranean" and not "Middle Eastern". I was miffed because falafel with tzatziki sauce is very Middle Eastern. I feel that people advertise food as Mediterranean because of the conflict in the Middle East and do not want their food to be associated with "that", but it might be of different styles of food mixed together and Mediterranean is used as a grouping word. However, I may be wrong- scavenge around for more sources and make your own opinion- not mine. As I always say- have a lovely day!
It's summer time! And if you are a poor, unfortunate soul like me born with hair the color of poo, your fingers are itching to snag some hair dye for gorgeous highlights, dip dyes, ombre and more. But really, should you do it or wait? You've seen the results- unnatural pretty blondes, neon pink ends, and caramel brown fading to sun-kissed tips. But- the consequences. *Insert dramatic music* The pink going moldy green and brittle hair. Ugh! No thanks! I've always wanted to try temporary highlights- Aveda makes some awesome ones! The cost of these dyes- up to $250! The ones from the bottle might end in disaster. Let's list the pros and cons!
PRO: CONS: *Gorgeous colors * Can end in dry and brittle hair *Look-at-me hair * Might change colors *Costly Comment below with more pros, cons, fantastic or not-so-fantastic results plus if you're a fan or not. Have a lovely day! "You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl" Those are the famously uttered words of Gossip Girl or (SPOILER ALERT) Dan Humphrey. Ew, gross. I always thought it was Georgina. Anyways, most of the outfits the characters wear are to DIE FOR. Pure fashionspiration! Whoever designed these outfits- contact me and we can start a new line! Just kidding! Due to wornontv.net you can get these outfits to prevent yourself from dying of non-fashionable clothes, but alas, my wallet is telling me to calm down. Instead of robbing a bank, click on the links below and drool. Have a lovely day!
