I read this book recently, called Pandora's Lunchbox, that talked all about the American food society and all the goop we digest unknowingly that is slowly killing us. That's right folks. Tony Tiger and Sam Toucan are killing you from the inside. Often, the so-called 'beneficial vitamins' are useless.
When debating what to eat for the most important meal of the day, eat real food. I don't mean expensive stuff, just good and nourishing food, that isn't loaded with chemicals.
Don't be fooled by 'serving sizes' either. A serving size could be as little as a quarter cup- think portions. Four servings with nine grams of sugar per each, could count up to thirty six grams of sugar for a skimpy breakfast.
"But Cheerio's!" you cry out,'They lower cholesterol! Buzz told me so!" Well, I'm sorry to say, this iconic American breakfast cereal only possesses 1 gram or less of soluble fiber, thus not being very effective in fighting cholesterol.
